Bedlam in the Boro - 2024

😱👻 Our Visit to Bedlam in the Boro 👻😱

Date: 10/18/2024

Location: Lineboro, Maryland

Bedlam in the Boro is back in 2024 for their 29th season of serving up thrills & chills. This fully volunteer run operation lacks no heart, as this haunt oozes passion for the spooky season! Bedlam in the Boro has truly crafted up the perfect mixture of spooky fun entertainment suitable for the entire family. And of course with some hair-raising scares mixed in.

Located just over the Maryland line, at the Lineboro Volunteer Fire Company, Bedlam in the Boro is the biggest annual fundraiser for the fire company! Our crew has always taken pride in supporting haunts of all types, especially those who support a great cause! This local small town haunt will take you for a journey down memory lane, as they spook ya old school style! They rely heavily on their cast to bring the scenes to life & deliver frightfully fun engagements. For those who have never visited Bedlam in the Boro, these guys possess two attractions, the House of Horror & the Haunted Hayride! These two attractions pair nicely together to serve up ample thrills & chills.

At Bedlam in the Boro we’ve come to know & love their creativity with their handcrafted sets. These guys have really upped their production quality since our last visit in 2019, as we encountered several animatronics & a notable upgrade with audio & visual special effects. They still keep that classic old school vibe while mixing in some modern twists!

Unfortunately for us it always seems to be frigid when we choose to visit Bedlam in the Boro! Be sure to dress warm when visiting these guys, trust us, you’ll want an extra layer when enjoying their bone-chilling hayride! As you enter the midway you’ll be funneled through the ticket booth! Tickets here are extremely affordable, only costing $24 per person. Don’t forget to snag your $2 off combo coupons from the website!

Once in the midway be sure to leave yourself time to enjoy the scrumptious eats from one of the several food stands. A nearby stage was blasting a stellar playlist, keeping the atmosphere lively. Test your skill (and luck) at one of the several carnival games! Most importantly, like at any haunt, be sure to snag a commemorative group photo at the Bedlam in the Boro photo-op! Or if you’re like us, pay a visit to the merchandise stand & snag yourself some Bedlam in the Boro gear!

Our evenings festivities commenced with the House of Horror! The House of Horror provides ~10 minutes of action-packed spooky entertainment! Along our journey we encountered a little bit of everything, ranging from a murky swamp to a clown infested carnival to a greenhouse that made our skin crawl! We enjoyed witnessing the creativity and couldn’t help but notice the clear attention to detail. The characters encountered were passionate, immersed in their roles, and did their best to deliver memorable engagements. We particularly enjoyed the spooks in the Doctors Office & Morgue! And of course you can’t have a haunted barn without a vortex tunnel to disorient haunt goers!

Next up we jumped on the hay wagon & set off on a bone-chilling adventure! This ~30 minute hayride takes you out & about the town of Lineboro. You cover some serious ground on this journey, as we recall being told it’s a nearly 3-mile trip. The hayride commences with the always comical “crapper shack”, which gave us a good laugh as we were doused in “crap”. As we continued forth on our journey we encountered a wide array of scenes. An eerily lit graveyard was overwhelmed with zombie children, who came chasing & screaming after the hay wagon as we pulled away. We witnessed an execution via an electric chair as well as a maddened doctor torturing his patients. A gigantic man-eating spider had his next meal tangled in a web and that didn’t stop it from eyeing up the hay wagon for another victim. A saw mill featured blood and guts galore and as a body was cut in half we were blasted with guts (bubbles). Several strategically hidden air horns & loud booms provided a few quick startle scares. The clown funhouse was crawling with crazed carnies, one of which was doing clown aerobics on a pole! Several hillbilly-esque characters were encountered, but none more memorable than the large fella protecting his moonshine! We have to give major credit to the Hayride cast, they truly gave their all to deliver energized & engaging performances! The Haunted Hayride here may not be intense or overly scary, but it succeeds at providing a unique and entertaining experience!

Bedlam in the Boro never fails to deliver a spooky fun & entertaining experience. They know what they aren’t, and don’t strive to be the scariest or most visually stunning attraction! Some haunt goers prefer that high intensity & high startle experience. While others, including us at times, enjoy kicking it old school & catching a break from all the traditional haunts out there. We encourage that you come into your visit at Bedlam in the Boro with the expectations of receiving a frightfully delightful experience and we know you’ll be pleasantly surprised! We’ll certainly be checking back in with Bedlam in the Boro in a future season to come, as we always enjoying seeing what new tricks & surprises they have up their sleeve!
